Seventh Grade Has Its Day in Court at Mock Trials

By Mr. John Stevens, Middle School Humanities Teacher

The 7th grade government classes recently went to court at the Baltimore County Courthouse for our 3rd annual mock trials. Circuit Judge Finifter graciously allowed us access to his courtroom to add an air of authenticity to our trials.  The students ALL did a great job. Each class had a separate individual criminal trial that they had to prepare for and try in court. They prepared their opening and closing statements, questions, and courtroom strategies. It was a lot of hard work but definitely worth it for everyone!
