Fearless Fourth Graders Dissect Owl Pellets

Last week the fourth graders read about ecosystems and how owls regurgitate parts of animals that they can't digest, by forming tightly-packed pellets of all the regurgitated parts and spit them out. Her students then dissected owl pellets and saw the leftovers of what the owls ate, which included teeth, bones, and fur.

"It was a fun project," says fourth grade teacher Mrs. Robin Neumann, who shared photos of her students' reactions to the pellets. "The expressions on some of the kids' faces are priceless!"
