Morah Erlanger Wins National Jewish Educator Award

On the last day of school, representatives of the Center for Jewish Education paid a surprise visit to our Lower School to announce that Second Grade teacher, Morah Elisheva Erlanger had been selected from among hundreds of Jewish educators across North America, to receive the coveted National Grinspoon Award for Excellence in Jewish Education, which recognizes, honors and supports outstanding classroom Jewish educators.

The award includes an honorarium for Morah Erlanger, acknowledgement in local and national publications, grants for professional development opportunities and stipends for peer to peer trainings, and more. Morah Erlanger had previously been awarded both the Center for Jewish Education’s Sam Kahan Distinguished Educator Award.

“Morah Erlanger is one in a million!” says Mrs. Nina Wand, Lower School Principal. “She is a thoughtful and innovative teacher who cares deeply about her students – how and what they learn! She spends time creating materials and lessons that challenge the children to think and that spark their interest and curiosity.”
