CSI: BT Edition

Ms. McLaughlin’s 10th grade chemistry class spent the last school day before Pesach Break investigating a series of murder mysteries using chemical clues left at each crime scene.

The student investigators searched the School building for clues, reviewed eye-witness testimony (provided in pre-written statements), then returned to the lab to perform experiments on physical evidence left at each crime scene to solve each mystery.

The mysteries to be solved were:

Case One: She “Baseically” Did It!
Sophia pHernando, star athlete, bound for the World Cup, was found dead on the soccer field. Using witness testimonies, interviews with family and friends, and evidence found on the scene, can you determine if this was a foul play?

Case Two: Possession May Be Nine Tenths of the Law, but Properties Matter!
Ivan Better suffered from a condition that caused him to take a pill daily. Ivan, a movie star, ready for his Academy debut, was found in his trailer with his pill bottle next to him and a glass of what appeared to be water. Has Ivan succumbed to his ailment, or has the competition switched his property?

Case Three: Molariyou, Molarime, Molarity
Conrad Sintraytion, known by his friends as Con, was a man with a plan. He ranked up there with the top sales rep of his company, until he was found dead on his office floor. What happened? Using witness testimonies, interviews with family and friends, and evidence found on the scene, can you determine if this was a bad deal gone wrong?
