 | OFFICERS OF THE CONGREGATION Stanley WeintraubPresident Stan has been an active member of Beth Tfiloh for 25 years. He has served on the Congregation’s Board of Directors as Vice Chair of Finance and as Chair of the Investment Committee. He has served on the Sagner High Holiday Committee, the Cantorial Search Committee, and the Camp Committee. In addition, he has served on the School Committee and on the School Board of Trustees. Stan was also active at the Beth Jacob Congregation as Financial Secretary, Treasurer, and Chairman of the School Center Committee. He has also served on the boards of Levindale and CHAI. |
 David SchwartzHonorary President David has been a member of Beth Tfiloh for more than 15 years. He is a current member and past President of the Brotherhood, past Chair of the Annual Giving Campaign and has served on numerous committees including the Cantorial Concert, the Cantorial Search Committee, the Executive Director Search Committee and the Membership Committee. David also served as Chair of the Sagner High Holiday Committee for several years and Chair of the Brotherhood Hospital Visitation Committee.

 Marc Leavey1st Vice President The father of four alumni of the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School, Marc’s ties to Beth Tfiloh began with his marriage to his wife, Marcia, thirty-five years ago in the Beth Tfiloh Sanctuary, with the late Rabbi Samuel Rosenblatt officiating. During his tenure with Beth Tfiloh he has served as President of the Beth Tfiloh Players Theatre Troupe, Chairman of the Youth Director Search Committee, member of the Board of Directors, and Chairman of two Annual Brotherhood Donor Dinners. He assumes this position having served as Secretary of the Congregation, and currently serves as First Vice President of the Brotherhood, having held offices of Secretary and Second Vice President of the Brotherhood. A regular member of the daily minyan, he encourages all congregants to partake in this great way to start the day. |
 Michael Friedman2nd Vice President Since arriving in Baltimore 15 years ago to join the staff of THE ASSOCIATED, where he is currently Senior Vice President for Planned Giving and Endowment, Michael has been an active member of Beth Tfiloh. He and his wife, Cee Cee, are the parents of two Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School alumni. Michael has served in a number of capacities for the school and shul. Having served on the boards of both institutions, he is also a past chair of the Upper School Committee and member of the school’s Finance Committee. He serves on the Finance and Budget Committee of the Congregation as well. |
 Steve BondSecretary Steve attended Hebrew School and became a Bar Mitzvah at Beth Jacob. He and his wife, Susan, were married there in 1999. Steve became active at that time and served as Vice President of the Congregation and Chairman of the Board at the time of the merger with Beth Tfiloh. Since that time, he has served on the Board of Directors as well as the Finance Committee and Nominating Committee. Steve sat on the board of the National Shoe Travelers Association as well as the 210 Foundation, a philanthropic footwear organization. He and Susan have three children and four grandchildren. |
 Mark GheilerTreasurer Mark and his wife, Eve, have been members of Beth Tfiloh for many years. Their daughter, Tali, attends our lower school and their son, Ilan, will soon attend Beth Tfiloh’s pre-school. Mark has served as Gabbai, Vice President of the Brotherhood, as a member of the Board of Directors, as Chair of the Brotherhood Donor, Chair of the Brotherhood Art Auction and Co-Chair of the Combined Campaign as well as on various other committees including the Rabbinic Search Committee and the Nominating Committee for Board Officers. Mark is also a member of the Baltimore Leadership Council of AIPAC, a member of the Board of the Baltimore Jewish Council, and a member of the Maryland Hispanic Business Association. |
 Joseph KowitzGabbai Joe and his wife, Nancy, have been members of Beth Tfiloh for over 20 years and have 2 sons, Aaron and Joshua. He has served on the School Board of Trustees, the Congregation Board of Directors and the Brotherhood Board and was Co-Chair of the Brotherhood Donor. Joe is Chairman of the Israel Bond Committee and has been a daily minyonnaire for 6 years. |
 David LebsonGabbai Sheini David is a retired pharmacist who came to Beth Tfiloh as a result of the merger with Beth Jacob. During his membership at Beth Jacob, he served as Vice President and Secretary of the Brotherhood as well as Secretary and Gabbai of the congregation. David is actively involved in The Baltimore Council of Orthodox Jewish Congregations and has served as President and Secretary. |
OFFICERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Gary EidelmanChair Gary and his wife Jill and their family have been members of the Beth Tfiloh Congregation since 1995. He just recently completed a two-year term as the Executive Vice Chair of the Board of Directors having previously served as Vice Chair of Finance, Assistant Vice Chair of Finance, Chair of the Membership Committee, and as member of numerous Board committees. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School from which his children, Sara and Joshua, graduated in 2008 and where Eric is currently completing 10th grade. Gary is active in the community as well, having participated in ACHARAI, The Shoshana S. Cardin Leadership Development Institute, Greater Baltimore Committee’s, The Leadership, and as a Director of The Downtown Partnership. He also serves as the Vice Office Managing Partner at Saul Ewing LLP. |
 Richard AlterExecutive Vice Chair Richard and his wife, Rosalie, have been members of Beth Tfiloh for over 18 years. Their son, Zach, is a graduate of Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School. Both Richard and Rosalie have been very active in the school and the congregation and were honorees of Spotlight 2006. Richard has served on the Board of Directors and as President of the Board of Trustees. Also active in the community, he is a member of advisory boards for Shoresh, M&T Bank, Hopkins Federal Savings Bank, and the John Hopkins Heart Institute Initiative. He previously served on boards for the Broccoli Center and JNF. |
 Louis SchwartzVice Chair, Development Louis has been active in the Beth Tfiloh community for over 13 years. He currently serves on School Board of Trustees and was past Chair of Beth Tfiloh’s Combined Campaign. He is currently Co-Chair of this year’s Spotlight scholarship event for the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School. Louis and his wife Stacy have four children attending Beth Tfiloh School ranging in grades from kindergarten to high school. He is currently serving on the boards of the Associated Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and Jews for Judaism. |
 Lee ShellerSecretary Lee and his wife, Tina, and their family have been members of Beth Tfiloh Congregation for over 15 years. He is a member of the Board of Directors and served as the chairman of the By-Laws Revision Committee. Lee has served several times on the Nominating Committee. His community activities include service for over 20 years on the Board of Directors of the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America and in several officer positions, including Treasurer and Vice President of Administration. He previously served for 6 years on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations and is currently chairman of its National Standards for Excellence Committee. |
 Louis BaerLouis and his wife Deborah have been members of Beth Tfiloh for more than 20 years and their daughters Alisa and Abigail are both graduates of the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community High School. Louis has served as the Secretary, Treasurer and 3rd Vice President of the Beth Tfiloh Brotherhood and is currently the 1st Vice President and Chairman of the 2010 Brotherhood Donor Dinner (so y’all come). He is a member of the Congregations’ Board of Directors and an active participant in the Mercaz and Chesed Committees. He also serves as a volunteer each week at Levindale and for the Dyslexia Tutoring Program. |
 Calla SamuelsMembership Committee Co-Chair Calla and her husband, Todd, and their three sons moved to Baltimore 5 ½ years ago. They have been members of the Beth Tfiloh Congregation for 4 years. She has served on the Board of Directors and is the current Co-Chair of the Membership Committee and the Combined Campaign for the synagogue. She is also a member of several committees including the budget Committee, Mercaz and Spotlight (where she is Co-Chair of Publicity). Calla also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School and is on the Committee on Trustees. Calla is a member of Hadassah and is on the Levindale Auxiliary Board and currently serves as Co-Chair of their fundraiser for 2009. |
 Mark SmolarzVice Chair, Finance Mark and his wife, Robin, have been members of the Beth Tfiloh congregation for over 20 years. Both of their children attended the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School from Kindergarten through high school and are now both alumni. Mark is extremely active in both the Jewish and Non-Jewish not-for-profit world. In addition to working at THE ASSOCIATED as their Chief Operating and financial Officer, he has served on the Health Care for the Homeless Board for 19 years. |
 Fran PruceAsst. Vice Chair, Finance Fran and her husband, Steve, and their family have been members of the Beth Tfiloh Congregation for over 15 years. She has served on the Board of Directors, and is the current Co-Chair of Mercaz, the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Center for Jewish Life and Learning. She is a member of several committees including the Audit Committee, Budget Committee, Nominating Committee for Congregation Officers, Spotlight, Planned Giving, and Combined Campaign. Fran also serves as member of the Board of Trustees for the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School. |
