About Tuition

Beth Tfiloh Dahan provides a challenging and comprehensive academic program rooted in Jewish values. Our mission seeks to grant admission to academically qualified students from a wide range of Jewish backgrounds, without regard to their family’s economic circumstances.
The tuition and fees which are charged for each student cover less than 80% of the actual annual cost of a Beth Tfiloh education, with the remaining funds obtained through voluntary contributions by parents and other supporters. In order to make a Beth Tfiloh Dahan education affordable to more parents, generous Financial Assistance is available to a broad range of families.

Financial Aid (Grades K-12)

Beth Tfiloh has a generous Financial Assistance program for Grades K through 12, benefiting approximately 50 percent of our current students, with awards of nearly $3.6 million annually.

The goals of our Financial Aid process continue to be as follows:
  • To make financial assistance accessible to a broad range of families.
  • To make the financial assistance application process strictly confidential and user-friendly.
  • To carefully consider the personal circumstances of each family applying for financial assistance.
  • To enable as many children as possible to benefit from a Beth Tfiloh education.
  • To provide continuing financial assistance to families to enable their children to complete their education at Beth Tfiloh.

Distribution of Financial Aid by Family Income

Financial aid awards typically range from 10 percent to 40 percent of tuition, depending on individual family circumstances. We encourage all current and prospective school families to speak to our Financial Aid Office about the availability of financial assistance for their children, or to address any financial concerns. For more information, contact Allison Magat, Chief Administrative Officer, Office of Tuition & Financial Aid at amagat@btfiloh.org or call 410-413-2310.

Financial Assistance Considerations

The Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Financial Aid Committee operates under complete confidentiality in considering requests for aid using established policies to insure fairness. Requests for aid are considered each year as they are received in accordance with the application procedure and deadlines set forth below. The Tuition and Financial Aid Office serves as the liaison for parents in all matters pertaining to the financial aid application process.
Financial Aid Committee
The Financial Aid Committee strives to provide some level of assistance to many families in order to achieve the school's mission to provide a Jewish education to as many children as possible.
Family Financial Information
Financial aid shall be determined annually by the Committee based upon information provided by the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment service and the Beth Tfiloh Financial Aid Supplemental Form. In computing the amount of aid, the Committee shall take into account family size, income and expenses, assets and liabilities, priorities for spending and special circumstances should they exist. The Committee shall use the information supplied to it by the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Service as a guideline and shall not be bound to base its determination on the parameters suggested by the FACTS Service.
Annual Process
All grants are made for one year only and are based on need and the availability of funds. Each family requesting aid will be required to complete a new application for each school year. Should a family's circumstances remain the same, it is the school's intention to provide a consistent level of support each year.
Prior Debts
Financial aid will not be awarded to any family that may be indebted to Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School.
Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School maintains strict confidentiality with respect to all Financial Aid applications. All families receiving aid are asked to respect this procedure and treat all aid as confidential.

Financial aid information is e-mailed in November to all current families and prospective families who have requested an application.
