Joy. Discovery. Respect.
Beth Tfiloh PreSchool is dedicated to the belief that preschool offers extraordinary opportunities for the emotional, spiritual, physical, and intellectual growth of young children. Our team of educators, professional staff, and volunteers are passionate about their work—and it shows. Children feel safe, loved, and excited about coming to BT PreSchool every day. Preschool at BT is a celebration of life, learning, and Jewish values. Children are encouraged to exercise their curiosity and stretch their imaginations as they explore the world around them. The program combines opportunities for learning initiated by the children themselves with age appropriate activities guided by their teachers. Children and their parents are embraced by our school family, developing meaningful relationships within the entire community.
Building Blocks for Future Learning
For over 60 years, BT has provided a preschool experience tailor-made for very young children. Our teachers are devoted to the children in their care. Every child receives the attention she or he needs to prepare for life beyond PreSchool.
Our preschoolers learn to play and play to learn in a loving, supportive environment. We challenge them to think, develop ideas, and take their own initiative. Our students develop self-esteem and gain knowledge. As the youngest members of the Beth Tfiloh school family, our preschoolers have the added benefit of learning from and together with older students in our other school divisions, from Lower School to High School. They love seeing their older friends and siblings—in the hallways and in their classrooms —and benefit from continued relationships with the broader school community and all of its many resources.
The BT Plus extended day program offers a longer school day in the care of PreSchool staff.
We lay the foundation for a lifelong love of Judaism by incorporating Jewish values and traditions in our educational program. Children learn Hebrew through conversation, song, dance, and a multitude of engaging activities as we celebrate Jewish rituals and holidays and our connection to Israel and the Jewish people. We express our love for our heritage by exploring the sounds, sights, smells, tastes, and textures of our rich traditions.
Parents are Our Partners
Children flourish in our PreSchool because everyone—from administrators to classroom teachers, specialists, and volunteers—loves what she does and devotes limitless energy and attention to creating an environment ideal for young children.
Critical to our program is our accessibility to parents. Staff throughout the PreSchool know all of the children and are available during and after school hours. In turn, we encourage parents to be involved with us—and their children—by volunteering at school and attending a variety of classes for adults and family enrichment programs.
We schedule parent-teacher conferences twice a year and make sure parents know what is happening at the PreSchool through formal and informal communications, face-to-face conversations, and newsletters.
