Meet the Schmerling Family

Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School alum Dan Schmerling ’04 reconnected to BT last year when he and his family joined his high school friends Vicki (Roffe) ‘05 and Jesse Hervitz ’04 at the synagogue’s Cookie Minyan. He, his wife Jen and twin daughters Amelia ’33 and Gabby ’33 enjoyed the Shabbat service designed specifically for infants through 3 year-olds.

Since then, the Schmerlings joined BT synagogue and started participating in more BT children’s programming, including Cookie Minyan Shabbat lunches and PreSchool pre-Shabbat dinners. Their twins enjoy being at BT all year-round.

“They LOVE the BT playground, Shabbat with their friends, Morah Cindy, singing Shabbat songs, and holding plush Torahs,” Jen said, adding, “We love coming to BT Synagogue because we are always welcomed with open arms and our children see so many of their school friends and teachers."
