Ninth Grade Mitzvah Fair

What’s the best way to prepare for Shavuot? To learn about the Mitzvot at a Mitzvah Fair!

At their Mitzvah Fair, Mrs. Slavaticki’s ninth grade Jewish ritual class displayed in living color their in-depth study of mitzvot, ranging from kashrut and shechita (ritual slaughter) to tzniut (modesty) and pidyon haben (redemption of the first born son). Each group researched a particular Mitzvah, tracing its source in the written and oral law, as well as the meaning behind the Mitzvah. They presented their extensive research in an engaging, visual way to fourth and eighth grade students.

The ninth graders took pride in sharing their wealth of knowledge, watching proudly as the visiting students filled out a questionnaire at each exhibit. It was heartwarming to watch the camaraderie between the lower school, middle school, and high school!
