Lowell is a founder of Herman, Sessa, & Dorsey, LLC, an Estates and Trusts Law Firm. For the eleven years immediately prior to that, he was the Chair of the Trusts & Estates Group at Gordon Feinblatt LLC. He has a long history of service to Beth Tfiloh. Lowell served as President of the Board of Trustees of the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School from 2006-2009, and before that as Vice-President and as Treasurer of the school. He has served on various committees at Beth Tfiloh on behalf of both the shul and the school for over twenty years. In addition to his commitment to Beth Tfiloh, Lowell served as President of Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. ("CHAI"), an agency of The Associated, from 1998-2000. He currently serves as a member of the Board of The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore, Inc., and Board of the Associated Jewish Charities of Baltimore. Lowell’s connection to Beth Tfiloh began in 1985 with his marriage to his wife, Margie, officiated by Rabbi Wohlberg. He is the proud father of two Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School alumni, Seth (’05) and Cara (’08), each having started their education here in pre-school. Lowell is a regular participant at Shabbat services in the Dahan Sanctuary.
Louis and his wife Deborah have been members of Beth Tfiloh for more than 25 years and their daughters Alisa (’98) and Abigail (‘02) are both graduates of the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community High School. Louis has served as Brotherhood President and Donor Chairman, in addition to serving the Congregation as Assistant Vice Chair Finance and Vice Chair Programming. He joined Deborah in chairing the 2012 Spotlight Sponsorship Committee and headed the 2013 Annual Combined Campaign. A member of the last two Rabbinic Search Committees, Louis also is an active participant in Mercaz, Synagogue Life, and Chesed Committees, in addition to volunteering each week at Levindale and for the Dyslexia Tutoring Program.
Ron and his family have been members of BT for close to 20 years. He has served on the school Board of Trustees, the Brotherhood Board, the Religious Services Committee, Congregation Board and Executive Committee and has been Board secretary, Security Committee, Camp Committee Chair and Vice-Chair of Facilities. He also serves the synagogue as one of their Gabbai Sheini’s. Ron and his wife Sally have two sons, Adam (’09) and Eli (’12) who are both BT graduates. Sally is currently Chair of the Goucher Hillel.
Gary and his wife Jill and their family have been members of Beth Tfiloh Congregation since 1995. Their children, Sara (’08), Joshua (’08) and Eric (’11) are all graduates of the Beth Dahan Community School. Gary served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Congregation from 2009-2011, and before that as Executive Vice Chair, Vice Chair of Finance, Assistant Vice Chair of Finance, Chair of the Membership Committee, a member of numerous Board committees and as a Trustee of the School. Gary is finishing his second term as a Director of ACHARAI, The Shoshana S. Cardin Leadership Development Institute, where he is Fellow from its first cohort of graduates. He also serves as Director of The Downtown Partnership of Baltimore and holds several leadership roles with the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law. Gary is a member of the Executive Committee at Saul Ewing LLP, is a Vice Chair of the Business and Finance Department, and he also chairs the Firm’s Labor and Employment Practice.
Since arriving in Baltimore in 1994 to join the staff of THE ASSOCIATED, where he is Senior Vice President for Philanthropic Planning and Services, Michael has been an active member of Beth Tfiloh. He and his wife, Cee Cee, are the parents of two Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School alumni, Alyssa (’01) and Rachel Friedman. Michael has served in a number of capacities for the school and shul. Fran and her husband Steve, and their family have been members of the Beth Tfiloh Congregation for over 30 years. Fran has served on the Board of Directors as Executive Vice Chair, Vice Chair, and Assistant Vice Chair of Finance. She is also a member of the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Board of Trustees.
Her School Board roles have included co-chairing the Strategic Planning Committee, chairing the Committee on Trustees, and serving on the Affordability Task Force. Fran is a graduate of the ACHARAI Fellows Program Class V and currently serves on the Center for Jewish Education (CJE) Board of Directors.
Her two children, Alan and Cheryl, attended the Beth Tfiloh Hebrew School and the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School respectively. Cheryl, Alan, Caroline, and grandsons David and Joshua live in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Her mother Helen Silber and mother-in-law Gloria Pruce reside in Pikesville.
Ricka is the managing partner of Neuman & Associates, LLC, a public accounting firm. She has been a member of Beth Tfiloh for over 25 years, becoming active in 2002. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2006, the VP of Finance from 2013-2015, co-chairs the Financial Oversight Committee, assists the Beth Tfiloh Sisterhood with finances as needed and chaired the Legacy Giving Committee. Ricka also volunteers with the Maryland Association of CPAs, serves as the chair of The Associated’s Planned Giving Roundtable Steering Committee, sits on the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center Advisory Board and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Planned Giving Advisory Council and will be joining the board of the Baltimore Estate Planning Council in May. She has previously served on various boards and in officer positions with the Baltimore Chapter of the Financial Planning Association, Chesapeake Center for Youth Development, University of Baltimore Alumni Association and the Women’s Law Center.
Steven is President and co-founder of Trisun Financial Group, LLC, an equity finance and real estate development company and a member of the Maryland Bar. He, along with his wife, Linda, have been members of Beth Tfiloh for 32 years. Steven currently serves as the Co-Chair for the Chazak Campaign for the Beth Tfiloh Synagogue and Day School and on the Finance Committee for The Associated. He has served in various positions for Beth Tfiloh and The Associated. Steven and Linda’s three children, Lauren (’03), Michael and Andrew (’11) were privileged to attend the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community Day School. Steve boasts about two new additions to their family, their grandson Max, and son-in-law, David Braunstein who joined the family in reverse order, Baruch Hashem.
Melissa and her family have been members of BT for 11 years. She currently serves on the Synagogue Board as Vice Chair of Development. She also serves on the school Board of Trustees. Melissa and her husband Richard have two children, Rachel who graduated from BT in 2012, and Matthew who will be graduating this year. Melissa is a life member of Hadassah and is also on the Executive Board of CHAI, Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc., an agency of The Associated.
Louis has been active in the Beth Tfiloh community for over 19 years. He is currently serving as Secretary of the Board. He previously served as Vice Chair, Property and Facilities for the congregation. For numerous years, he served on the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Board of Trustees, and was the Treasurer for the school for 2012-2013. He was past Chair of Beth Tfiloh’s Combined Campaign and was a previous Co-Chair of the Spotlight scholarship event for the Beth Tfiloh school. Louis and his wife Stacy have one child who is a Beth Tfiloh school alum, and three children currently attending Beth Tfiloh, ranging from sixth grade through High School. He was past President of Jews for Judaism, and is currently serving on their Board.
Calla and her family moved to Baltimore 12 years ago and have members for 11 years. Calla most recently served as the Vice Chair of Programming. She also served as co-chair of the joint Membership and Programming Committee and worked with the Social Action Committee. She currently serves on the Board of Cheder Chabad and Jewish Community Services, an agency of the Associated. Calla co-chaired this year’s Golda Meir Event for the Women’s Division of Israel Bonds. She is a life member of Hadassah.
Neil and his family have been members of Beth Tfiloh since 2004. He is currently serving as Secretary of the Board. Neil and his wife Sherri live in Pikesville and have two children. Rachel, who graduated from Beth Tfiloh in 2013, and Ryan, who is currently in High School.
