Beth Tfiloh's spiritual leaders share the synagogue's mission to celebrate the joy of Judaism and embrace Jews of all levels of observance. They are all outstanding Jewish role models and provide spiritual leadership and support to the congregational families. In addition, they teach a variety of adult education classes at Beth Tfiloh and are frequently asked to speak in the community.
Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg
has been Beth Tfiloh's spiritual leader for the past 40 years, reflecting an unprecedented growth in the synagogue's membership and programming. Rabbi Wohlberg is known for his warmth, his humor, and his inspiring and insightful sermons, which are read by thousands over the Internet. Hazzan Avi Albrecht
has been Beth Tfiloh's Shaliach Tzibur since 1996. Hazzan Albrecht is beloved by the Beth Tfiloh family for his personal warmth, his rich barritone voice, his musical creativity, and his inspiring spirituality. Rabbi Chai Posner has been a member of the Beth Tfiloh clergy since 2010. He has earned a reputation for being "wise beyond his years" and is involved in all aspects of synagogue life, including leading services in the BT Minyan and the Dahan Sanctuary, giving Divrei Torah, providing a rabbinic presence for life cycle events, and teaching classes for adults in our Mercaz Dahan Center.
Rabbi Eli Yoggev is the most recent addition to the BT clergy. He is a 2017 graduate of Yeshivat Chovevei Torah. In addition to sharing responsibility for all aspects of synagogue life, Rabbi Yoggev delivers a daily Daf Yomi class, teaches Mercaz classes for adults, teaches students and parents in our Hebrew School, and is actively involved with our BT Young Professionals.
Rabbi Chaim Wecker, a graduate of Ner Israel Rabbinical College, is our Ritual Director and oversees daily services and yahrzeits, serves as our Torah reader and teaches Bar and Bat Mitzvah students. Rabbi Wecker joined the Beth Tfiloh clergy in 2009.
Rabbanit Bracha Jaffe is Beth Tfiloh's new Community Educator. A 2017 graduate of Yeshivat Maharat, Rabbanit Bracha has spearheaded a variety of new educational opportunities for men and women alike, on Shabbat and during the week. She teaches Bat Mitzvah girls, and serves as an important role model and mentor for our women, both at daily and Shabbat services, where she regularly gives classes and Divrei Torah, and shares her passion for Judaism and her special warmth.
