B'More Inclusive Program-8th Grade

The focus of the program is to convey an important message of inclusivity and acceptance, regardless of a person’s disability. The following are a few of the topics that will be addressed:

-          Acknowledged that we all have strengths and weaknesses. People with disabilities may struggle in a certain aspect but can also have wonderful strengths as well.

-          Recognize that most disabilities cannot actually be seen.

-          Explore disabilities referenced in the Torah, and that the Torah never referred to them by their disability. 

-        Discuss the dangers of using derogatory terms towards those with disabilities and even those without.

-          Explore how 8^th graders can be leaders in their community to stress a message of acceptance and inclusion of others.
