The Personal Journey of an African American Man: From the Cotton Fields to the Halls of Academia

Dr. Joshua Karlip '90, history professor at Yeshiva University, will interview Dr. Larry Martin, a retired professor of history at Coppin State University. Dr. Martin made his way from the cotton fields of the Jim Crow South to the halls of academia within one decade. Dr. Karlip will interview him about his life journey within the context of the larger African American experience and ask him to compare the challenges of the Black community of the civil rights era with those of today.  Presente by Yeshiva University’s Center for Israel Studies.
