Our award-winning school technology program has received local and national acclaim, as recipient of the Baltimore Business Journal Award for Excellence in School Technology and the 2001 National Blue Ribbon Special Recognition Award for Educational Technology.
Beth Tfiloh is a “Laptop Friendly” environment, with a school-wide wireless network. The High School encourages, but does not require, students to bring their own portable device to class. Additional computing resources are available to support classes as needed, inculding access to a variety of computer labs, laptop and iPad carts, and printers both during the school day and after school.
The High School library is equipped with a mini-lab providing students with Internet access and hi-speed printing. Students are able to use online database engines from the library, search the school collection and use the desktops for other applications. The High School Publications Office is available to students who are involved with the Beth Tfiloh yearbook, Kadima
, or the school newspaper, Insight
. This office is equipped with desktop publishing computers, printers, digital cameras and scanners.
Our High School classrooms are equipped with wireless network projectors that will allow a teacher to connect and project within seconds.
All students in Grades 5 through 12 are entitled to a free license of Office 365 and the Office Professional suite, for their home computers, which is made available through our school-wide license.
Our technology infrastructure includes a school-wide wireless network, with load balancing, content filtlering, and redundant connections.
Through their four years in the High School, students can elect to take a variety of Computer Science courses, including Introduction to Programming Animation, Fundamentals of Computer Science, AP Computer Science I, and AP Computer Science II. A Film Production elective, and student publications, such as the newspaper, yearbook, and art/literary magazine, provide additional opportunities for computer-assisted publication design, graphical and video editing applications.
