FOR YOUR MIDDLE SCHOOLER
Shabbat and Holiday Services
Middle Schoolers have a variety of minyanim to choose from, making their Shabbat and holiday experiences participatory and engaging at a level that meets their growing needs.
• Middle School Girls' Shabbat Service
Grades 5-8, 10 am, Room 264
This girls-only service, led by Mrs. Amy Katz and Gal Yossef, includes a new approach to prayer, schmoozing about "girl stuff," learning about some of the amazing privileges of being a Jewish girl and woman, all topped off with a delicious weekly Kiddush.
• Middle School Boys' Minyan
Grades 5-8, 10 am, Room 265
Middle Schoolers have their own age-appropriate service that incorporates davening, games and a Kiddush snack, led by Adam Hariri '12 and Coach Eli Creeger '03.
• Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation and Celebration
Many factors are taken into consideration for scheduling, including the number of children with birthdays in a given month, Jewish and secular holidays, the Synagogue calendar, camp, etc. Boys are eligible to be scheduled when they are 13 years old plus one day, according to their Hebrew birthday. Here at Beth Tfiloh, girls are eligible to be scheduled for a date up to three months prior to their 13th Hebrew birthday. In order to allow the families to participate in the date selection process, each family will receive a list of three dates to choose from.

• High School Teen Minyan
Grades 9-12, 9:32 am, HS Beit Midrash
The High School Teen Minyan is a popular Shabbat morning service that provides teens the opportunity to participate and run their own service in an atmosphere they find comfortable. Teen Minyan is always followed by a meat kiddush.
• High Holy Day Services
BT offers a comprehensive schedule of services for kids of all ages during the High Holy Day season that makes this a meaningful time for all. |Beth Tfiloh Camp|
Beth Tfiloh offers services and programs to meet your spiritual needs all week long. We offer a choice of Shabbat services with a number of “user-friendly” enhancements that make the Modern Orthodox service especially attractive to families with middle school/high school aged children. The addition of a halachically-approved Tzomet sound system and increased participation by women are innovations which aim to expand the appeal of this special house of worship and make Beth Tfiloh’s service truly unique on the American Jewish scene.
Shabbat and Holiday Services, Programs and Classes
• Dahan Sanctuary Services
Dahan Sanctuary services provide a morning of high-spirited cantorial singing featuring the melodic baritone of Cantor Avi Albrecht, meaningful prayers and world-class sermons delivered by Rabbis Mitchell Wohlberg, Chai Posner, and Jonathan Gross.
• The BT Minyan
The Minyan service on Shabbat morning and holidays in the Epstein Chapel provides a less formal service in a more intimate setting to enable Beth Tfiloh to serve the broadest cross section of the Jewish community. This service appeals to those who enjoy a more intimate, participatory service with a unique blend of contemporary and traditional Judaism.
• Learn with Our Rabbis
At BT, we never take a day off from learning Torah!
> Before Saturday morning services, spend some time learning Torah with one of our rabbis. Delve into traditional texts and prepare for the Shabbat services.
> Every Shabbat afternoon our rabbis lead a stimulating hour of Torah study before Mincha. Topics range from Jewish thought to the weekly Parsha to Jewish law.
• Seudah Shelishit
Even the end of Shabbat is a special time at BT. Join your friends for a spirited meal with learning, singing...and food!
