Secret Service Agents Visit Seventh Grade

United States Secret Service Agent John Oesch and his colleagues explained the Secret Service’s mission to Mr. John Stevens’ seventh grade government class as part of their study of the three branches of government. Secret Service agents protect members of the executive branch, most notably, the President of the United States.

The class recently completed a unit on counterfeit money and how it hurts the economy. Agent Oesch explained that one of the jobs of Secret Service agents is to prevent counterfeit money from being printed and used. He and his fellow agents then showed students tactical equipment, actual counterfeit money, and an armored limousine.

“The students were very excited and enjoyed the presentations,” says Mr. Stevens. “We would like to thank Agent Oesch and the Secret Service for coming to visit us!”
