Three BT Students' Cappies Reviews Selected for Publishing

Three Beth Tfiloh High School students had their Cappies theater reviews selected from among 60 submissions for publication in local school media. Orly K. ’18 and Ashley C. ’18 each reviewed Chesapeake High’s production of “Night at the Wax Museum,” and Alana G. ’18 reviewed South River High School’s “Lend Me a Tenor.”

Beth Tfiloh has proudly been a member of the Cappies high school theater awards’ Critics Awards Program for the past 10 years. Through the Cappies program, which is similar to the Tony Awards, participating schools send a group of students, known as the Cappies Critic Team, to review other participating schools’ theatrical productions.

The student critics submit their individual written reviews to the Cappies’ online database, for review by adult mentors. Based on specific journalistic writing guidelines, the mentors select the strongest reviews for publication.
