Eighth Grade Researches the History and Future of Innovation

Eighth graders spent the past few weeks investigating a topic of interest to them, learning about that topic’s history and present, then making predictions about its future, as part of the annual Innovations Project. Students could either choose a suggested topic within the broader categories of literature, Judaic topics, science and history, or propose a topic of their own interest.

The projects explored such varied topics as archetypal literary characters, Zionism, mental illness, scientific developments such as nanotechnology, robotic surgery, DNA analysis, and opera, among others.

Some exciting new additions to the exhibit this year included the feminist movement, vaccinations, anesthesia, veterinary medicine, Winter Olympics, autism therapy and treatment, bipolar disorder, guns, oppression, driverless technology and dance movement therapy.
