Russel Family Challenge Grant Doubles New, Increased Giving Impact

This generous grant is being made possible by Irene and Robert Russel and the Ronnie & Alli Russel Charitable Foundation.

Irene and Robert Russel have been connected to Beth Tfiloh for more than 40 years. Their children, David Russel and Becky Brenner, attended the school before there was a high school and two of the Russels’ grandchildren are currently attending BT High School. The Russels also have strong connections to the congregation, and are regular Shabbat worshippers. “BT is a very special and welcoming place,” Robert says. “More than half of our life has included BT and it has had a great impact on us.”

The Russels’ motivation for creating the Russel Family Challenge Grant was also influenced by Robert's involvement in the school leadership, having chaired the school’s Financial Aid Committee. “For many years I've been very familiar with the school’s need for philanthropic dollars so I'm quite aware of what is involved in operating the school financially,” expalined Robert. “We are long-time supporters of the Annual Campaign and know how important our contribution and others contributions are to keeping Beth Tfiloh strong. By sponsoring the Challenge Grant we aim to double our impact.” Irene added, “Beth Tfiloh is our home away from home. We are very excited about motivating others to make first-time or increased gifts to the campaign.”
