Boys Varsity Basketball: BT Tops Obezags for 3rd Straight Win

Coach Braun
Beth Tfiloh traveled to Annapolis to take on the defending C Conference champions who sat undefeated in conference play this year. The Obezags had won the teams' previous meeting this season, 55-52, and the Warriors were looking for a win to cement themselves as contenders.

Both teams got off to a slow start offensively as Key led 6-5 with just over 3 minutes left in the 1st, but Junior Eli G. '20 came off the bench and provided a scoring spark. With 3:15 left. Eli scored on a nice feed from Senior Gav L. '19 to give the Warriors a lead at 7-6 that they would never give up. Eli scored 7 of his 14 points in the 1st quarter, and the Warriors led 17-11 after 1.  Gav scored 12 of his game high 22 points as the Warriors dominated the 2nd quarter and led 37-21 at halftime.  Harris G. '19 continued his steady hand in the 3rd scoring 7 of his 17 points as Beth Tfiloh extended the lead to 54-31 after 3.  The Warriors spent the 4th quarter milking the clock and held a comfortable 60-44 lead with under 2 minutes to play. The Obezags outscored Beth Tfiloh 9-2 in the final 2 minutes, including a 3 as time expired. Despite the late run, the final buzzer sounded with BT on top, 62-53! The victory leaves the Warriors comfortably in 3rd place in the conference with a 4-2 record. Go BT!
