Eighth Grade Students' My Family History Art Installation at Jewish Museum of Maryland

As the Jewish Museum of Maryland website explains, “The My Family Story Program is a fun-filled, meaningful, personal, global and multigenerational Jewish heritage journey to the past, where the exploration of one’s Jewish family story, genealogy and traditions culminates in an artistic installation.” My Family Story is a flagship program of Beit Hatfutsot, the Museum of the Jewish People in Israel, and partners with Jewish communal sites around the world, including the Jewish Museum of Maryland here in Baltimore.

Mazal tov to Aviva O. ’23 and Andrew S. ’23, whose My Family History projects were the Beth Tfiloh winners the Baltimore competition. Their projects will be sent to The Museum of the Jewish People at Beit Hatfutsot in Israel for the international competition.

Kol hakavod – well done! – to all of our eighth graders on their intensive research and astounding projects, and todah rabbah – thank you! – to Middle School humanities teachers Ms. Liz Shrier and Mrs. Maytal Schneyer and art teacher Mrs. Shelly Spector for making these incredible projects a reality.

A special thank you to Mrs. Elaine and Dr. Marc Lowen who have generously endowed Beth Tfiloh’s My Family Story program.
