BT Chemistry Students Research and Design Periodic Table Mural

BT High School Science Department Chair Mrs. Racheli Daniel describes the project:

"Each student researched an assigned element and designed and carved a tile to represent the element. Each tile includes relevant information regarding the chemical nature of the element, as well as a picture to depict its practical application. Students were trained with the computer numerical control (CNC) equipment in the STEM Center and completed their tile independently, to reflect their individual research and creativity as well as to demonstrate their proficiency with the carving equipment. The tiles were carved in specific colors, each representing a group of elements that share common characteristics and are described as such with the accompanying key identifying the various groups of the periodic table, for examples, metals."

Thank you to Dr. Lea Scheffer, Mrs.  Racheli Daniel, Mrs. Cristin Stifler and Mr. Vince Bonina for their guidance on this project.
