PreSchool 4’s Explore the Lower School Library

“Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life. Libraries change lives for the better.” – Sidney Sheldon

Over the past two years, the PreSchool 4’s students have been introduced to the librarian, story time and the different parts of a book. They have learned that — like every person — each book has a name, which is called the title; every book has at least one author, and that picture books also have an illustrator.

During their library time, PreSchool Librarian Mrs. Jessica Fink (or other special guests) will read them a story to expand their reading and comprehension skills while instilling a love of reading. Next, the children will have an opportunity to select a book from a designated area with titles that were curated to match their interests and classroom learning. The librarian will help make sure that each child finds a book that he or she is excited to take home and read with someone special.
