Long Distance Dedication: BT Grandparents Elinor and William Ziv

How many times have you traveled abroad and mentioned a connection to BT, only to be asked, “Oh really? Do you know…?” From alumni making a difference across the globe to grandparents expressing their nachas, pride, over their grandchildren’s accomplishments here at School, BT pride is an international phenomenon.

For Cincinnati residents Elinor and William Ziv, that pride is renewed every time they receive a school email or mailing, keeping them up to date on all the activities and programs their grandchildren Allison ’24, Caleb ’18, Coby ’20, Jacob ’22, and Yael ’22 are enjoying.

“We feel that the best way to ensure the future of the Jewish people is for our future generations to have a comprehensive Jewish education,” explains Mrs. Ziv. “At the same time, they need to have an outstanding secular education so they can become productive members of society. The only way to have both is with a superior Jewish day school.”

“If you have grandchildren in Beth Tfiloh I would encourage you to visit the school and see the dedicated staff in action and see the accomplishments of it alumni,” says Mr. Ziv. “You will be more than impressed--you will be awed. This is the future of the Jewish people. I believe any Jewish child, no matter what branch of Judaism, would be comfortable and benefit from this education.”

The Ziv’s pride is so strong that they felt compelled to invest in the school’s future by making a gift to the Chazak Campaign.

“Feeling as we do about Jewish day school education, it was easy to decide to make a legacy gift to Beth Tfiloh. We have seen firsthand the education six of our grandchildren are getting and we wanted to show our appreciation for that and help to ensure that others in the future will be able to get the same excellent education.”
