PreSchool

Joy. Discovery. Respect.

BT PreSchool celebrates and cultivates joy, discovery, and respect in our youngest students. Inspired by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia early childhood educational philosophy, our curriculum prepares children for Kindergarten by igniting their curiosity and stretching their imaginations through both self-initiated learning and developmentally appropriate teacher-guided activities.

Our warm, nurturing teachers encourage our PreSchool students to engage their intellect, develop linguistic and problem-solving skills, and express themselves as explore the world around them. Our PreSchoolers discover a love for their Jewish heritage and traditions and build the foundation for a positive lifelong Jewish identity.

The Emergent Curriculum
Our developmentally appropriate Emergent Curriculum, inspired by the world-renowned Reggio Emilia schools, challenges children to think and take initiative in both academic and social situations. Children are encouraged to use freedom of expression and to develop their intellect and vocabulary to problem solve as they learn about themselves, others, and the world around them. This nurtures the developing self-confidence our youngest students, helping them to internalize a sense of control over their surroundings, laying a foundation for positive social-emotional well being. Additionally, our program fosters a love for our Jewish heritage and traditions, creating a positive Jewish identity.

The PreSchool curriculum is interwoven with a rich variety of Judaic and secular units that includes:

  • American and Jewish holidays
  • Physical education
  • Music education
  • Early literacy development
  • Language arts
  • Hands-on math
  • Hebrew language
