Dr. Noam Weissman '03: Is Antisemitism the Glue that Holds the Jewish People Together?
Join the BT Alumni Association and Dr. Noam Weissman '03 for this virtual discussion about anti-Jewish hate and its impact on Jewish identity.
The "Three Weeks" marks the period between the 17th of Tammuz and the Tisha B'Av. During this historically tragic period for the Jewish people, both the First and Second Temples were destroyed, the Jews were expelled from Spain (1492), World War One broke out (1914), and the Jews were deported from the Warsaw Ghetto (1942).
Today in 2023, we are once again facing an uptick in anti-Semitic sentiments and actions. Join us during this period of Jewish national mourning and introspection for this important discussion with Dr. Noam Weissman '03, executive vice president of OpenDor Media.
Dr. Weissman will explore:
• To what extent has the phenomenon of antisemitism been important for Jewish identity? • How should the Jewish community be thinking about antisemitism? • Whether we are living in the worst age ever or the best age ever
