Dov Lipman served as a member of the 19th Knesset with the Yesh Atid party. He was the first American-born Knesset member in nearly 30 years and Israeli law required him to renounce his American citizenship to serve in the Knesset. Rabbi Lipman, an educator, author, and community activist, lives in Bet Shemesh with his wife and four children. He has rabbinic ordination from Ner Israel Rabbinical College and a masters in education from Johns Hopkins University. He has been at the forefront of combating religious extremism iin Israel and is a leader in efforts to create Jewish unity both in Israel and around the world.
