  • High School Biology Teacher

    Position Overview
    We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable High School Biology Teacher to join our science department. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching a range of biology courses, including Advanced Placement (AP) Biology, Honors Biology, and College-Preparatory/Non-Honors Biology. This educator will inspire curiosity, promote scientific literacy, and support students of diverse learning levels in mastering biological concepts.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Develop and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction for AP, Honors, and Non-Honors Biology courses, aligned with state standards and school curriculum.
    • Prepare AP Biology students for the AP Exam through rigorous coursework, lab experiences, and targeted skill development.
    • Design, implement, and assess laboratory investigations, ensuring safe and effective hands-on experiences.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of advanced, on-level, and diverse learners.
    • Use data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
    • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
    • Collaborate with science department colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment design, and instructional improvement.
    • Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding academic performance and classroom expectations.
    • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in biology, Life Sciences, Science Education, or a related field
    • Demonstrated experience teaching AP Biology as well as non-honors high school biology courses.
    • Strong understanding of data-driven instruction, lab safety protocols, and inquiry-based learning.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and academically challenging learning environment.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience integrating technology and digital tools into science instruction.
    • Familiarity with College Board AP Biology frameworks and lab requirements.
    • Experience sponsoring or supporting extracurricular activities such as Science Olympiad, Biology Club, or research programs.

    Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School is seeking candidates to join its faculty as Hebrew Language teachers for its Lower School, Middle School and/or High School for the 2025-2026 school year. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

    The ideal candidate will be an educator who is a native Hebrew speaker and has expertise teaching students in Grades K-12 at varying academic levels to achieve language comprehension and written and oral expression in Hebrew, as well as a love of Israel, and a knowledge and appreciation of Israeli culture.
