Online Databases

The following online databases are available to students in school or at home. A user name and password are required to access them at home. Students can also log onto BTCAT and access the databases from the Home tab. As per the terms of our contracts with the database providers, they are intended for use by Beth Tfiloh students only. Please contact the librarian for login information.

    A user-friendly and comprehensive reference work that is appropriate for middle school students (but is also useful for high schoolers), Grolier Multimedia offers 39,000 articles, more than 110,000 internet links, animations, and an atlas with almost 900 maps.

  • Access Instructions

    The Baltimore County Public Library offers a large selection of databases on many subjects, a selection of which are listed below:

    The access instructions below are for those who have Baltimore County Public Library cards. Please ask the librarian for the school library card if you do not reside in Baltimore County.

    • Go to
    • Click on the tab Find Info (on the grey bar under the BCPL logo).
    • Click on the link “Databases A to Z,” which is the first link under the heading Research Databases and Tools.
    • Click on the name of the database you want to search.
    • Type in your library card number where it asks for “barcode or username” and below that, your password (the last four digits of your phone number).
    • Click on the title of the database once again.
