The leadership of Beth Tfiloh Congregation is pleased to announce that starting on August 1, 2006, Rabbi Ross Singer will join the rabbinical staff of our Congregation. Rabbi Singer has a distinguished record of service to the Jewish community. For eight years he served as the rabbi of the Shaarey Tefilah Synagogue in Vancouver, BC. For the past two years he and his family have been living in Jerusalem, where he has been a fellow at the highly acclaimed Mandel Institute of the Hebrew University. Rabbi Singer received s’michot (rabbinic ordination) from Rabbi Shear Yashuv Cohen (Chief Rabbi of Haifa), Rabbi David Bigman, and the Institute of Traditional Judaism. Rabbi Singer has a BA from Columbia University and a Masters Degree in Talmud from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. His scholarly articles have been published in The Edah Journal and in the Journal of JOFA – the Jewish Orthodox Feminist Alliance. Before entering the rabbinate, Rabbi Singer served for four years as Director of Camping at Camp Ramah in Wisconsin where he was also a member of the Judaics staff. Rabbi Singer and his wife, Emily, are the proud parents of four children who will be attending our Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School. We are fortunate that a rabbi with such a broad background, outstanding educational experience, rabbinic training and a warm, caring personality will now be joining – and helping to lead – the Beth Tfiloh family.
