Luna and Baruch Rosendorff moved to the Beth Tfiloh neighborhood two years ago. Since they were already planning to send their children to BT for school, it made sense to relocate from the Cheswolde neighborhood and start meeting other young families in the neighborhood, which they did at BT PreSchool Shabbat dinners and neighborhood get-togethers.
Baruch, the vice president of Rosendorff’s Bakery, spends his days covered in flour, baking thousands of challah loaves each week for the bakery’s loyal following. Baruch’s talents extend beyond the industrial kitchen–he is the Rosendorff family fix-it man. “If it’s broke, he can fix it,” proclaimed Luna.
Luna fused her passion for art, design and all things pretty into an eponymous interior design firm. She also enjoys working out, walking outside, playing with her babies…and she's a pretty talented painter.
The Rosendorffs have three children: Guy ’32, who loves collecting interesting objects, reading books, playing sports and binge watching Netflix; Eric ’28, who is passionate about animals, loves to ride on his scooter, play sports, and also has a great sense of humor and “eyes to kill,” according to Luna; and five-month-old Celine, who will attend BT when she gets older. They all enjoy getting together with Baruch’s large family.
Luna and Baruch joined Beth Tfiloh synagogue this past year because of “all the amazing family and kid programming,” explained Baruch. Among the other reasons for joining were Hazzan Albrecht’s beautiful Shabbat service, the kiddushes that “often serve as a lunch for our family,” and the kids programming. Their kids have their own reasons for coming to shul: seeing their friends and teachers at shul.
“We just love how the BT community is so large but feels very close and friendly,” added Luna. “Everyone has been so welcoming and warm.”
