BT Warriors Defeat KSMS 29-26

Coach Greg Krupkin
Last night the Middle School BT Warriors (A ) defeated KSDS by a final score of 29-26. BT led most of the way by double digits in a hard fought match. In typical BT fashion the Warriors had to hold off a determined KSDS team as they attempted to storm back late in the fourth quarter to close within 2 with less than a minute left. However, BT’s Itai Gheiler, who finished with 6 points and 2 rebounds, was fouled with five seconds left. Itai calmly stepped to the line to sink 1 of 2 free throws to put BT up by 3. A late second three point attempt by KSDS was off the mark allowing BT to secure a much deserved win heading into the break.

Our boys continue to play with a tenacious spirit and attitude and display true BT spirit and values in everything they do. Last night, there were many exceptional performers on the court. Led by our very own Jonah Leavy with 6 points, 10 rebounds, a steal, and 1 blocked shot. Spencer Rapkin, who played a great all around game yesterday, added 3 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.  Samson (Shimshi) Stein controlled the middle of our defense throughout the night and contributed 3 points and 8 rebounds. Shimshi is playing a pivotal role in establishing our defensive presence and attitude. Dylan Black also added 6 points and 2 rebounds to go with some deft ball handling skills that were on full display yesterday.

Jordan Gladstone was all over the court in playing tough defense and chipped in with a couple of rebounds and a critical late minute steal that helped shift the momentum. Alex Schneyer had a big game on the glass yesterday as he collected 7 rebounds to go along with 2 points. Ami Bressler came off the bench to sink a 3 pointer midway through the game to add to 2 steals and 2 rebounds. Sam Krupkin, Dani Margalit, and Harris Rubenstein came off the bench yesterday to add 9 rebounds and a blocked shot, collectively.  Rafi Caplan, who is on the DL, missed yesterday’s game. We wish him a speedy recovery and eagerly await his return to the court after the winter break.
