MS Student Council Chesed and Tzedakah Projects

The 8th grade students led their final Yachad event this past Monday, April 23rd. Over the course of the year, 8th grade students have volunteered their time one Monday evening each month to work with physically and mentally disabled Jewish youngsters. Our B.T. students enjoyed pizza and soda with Yachad members, created projects together, played games and sang songs. The spirit our 8th graders showed was contagious – for the Yachad members, coming to B.T. was the highlight of their month.

Special thanks to the following 8th graders displayed leadership skills, compassion and kindness in working with Yachad this year: Amanda Balakirsky, Binyamin Besser, Eric Eidelman, Sam Farley, Zoe Frid, Andrew Gorbaty, David Howarth, Nina Jay, Scott Jaspan, Gabby Levy, Shana Levin, Max Meizlish, Ortal Shimon, Noam Sonnenschein, Matt Tettelbach, Eric Ungar, Adam Venick, and Helaine Wilkowsky. Special thanks also goes to Levi and Chana Fleksher who could always be relied on to eat up the extra pizza and provide additional entertainment!

Tzedakkah Opportunity: bring in your old cell phones and/or chargers by Friday, May 18th so that people in need can have emergency 911 cellphones. All phones will be recycled. Visit www.securethecall.org for more information.

Our second order for B.T. flannel P.J. pants was placed this past Monday. They should arrive the second week of May. Look out for signs about when to pick them up from the office.
