For example the month of Kislev [December] comes from the Acaddic word “KESEL” – which means prayer for rain. Indeed, this year Israel is extremely concerned about the lack of rain. As we all know, winter is a very short season in Israel, and, if by January, the country does not receive the needed rain, they will have to depend on importing water from places such as Turkey. Therefore, November 28 was declared as a day of prayer for rain not only in Israel, but in all Jewish centers in the world.
