Chazak Campaign

Every year, as we complete the Torah reading cycle, we recite the above passuk, wishing for ourselves and our community strength as we progress together. At Beth Tfiloh, following a year of milestone anniversaries, we too are embarking on a new phase, one that requires renewed strength and commitment to our community.

Beth Tfiloh is a truly unique entity: a synagogue, a community day school, a camp, a cultural and educational home…a family. Beth Tfiloh’s diverse, welcoming community celebrates thejoy of Judaism with a contemporary approach, inspiring involvement and commitment from across the spectrum of its members.

Our community requires significant resources to ensure our continued strength. Therefore, the Chazak Campaign has been launched, providing BT families the opportunity to be a part of this historic initiative through a meaningful commitment.

While our Annual Campaign helps to support almost all areas of the Congregation and School’s annual budgets, and we have additional fundraisers such as Spotlight to help fund our financial aid program, the Chazak Campaign will create a safety net for ongoing financial challenges while addressing the long-term financial security of BT. Our goal is to secure at least $15 million dollars to address several critical issues for the Congregation, School and Camp:

• Ensure affordability for all who wish to pray, learn and grow at Beth Tfiloh
• Maintain the highest level of academic and program excellence for the School, Congregation and Camp
• Retain and attract the highest level of clergy and staff
• Keep our campuses and facilities safe, clean and beautiful.

To date, we have secured commitments for one-third of our campaign goal of $15 million. While both congregations and Jewish day schools nationwide struggle to remain afloat, Beth Tfiloh is blessed to have the generous support and active participation of our growing membership and school community. A number of those members and parents expressed their strong connection to BT and their commitment to its enduring strength in a series of conversations with BT leadership, creating the foundation of support needed to launch the Chazak Campaign.

Some supporters have taken that commitment a step further, contributing not only their financial resources, but also their time and energy to ensure BT’s continued strength. The Chazak Campaign, led by Steve Hurwitz and Mark Neumann, is only possible through the efforts of its campaign committee, a diverse group who are passionate about securing the financial future for Beth Tifloh.

“Now is the time for all of us to do our fair share so that Beth Tfiloh remains a vibrant and thriving community for our children, and for generations to follow,” explains Steve Hurwitz. “We can tell our children that we made history by participating in the Chazak Campaign to ensure a strong future for Beth Tfiloh,” comments Mark Neumann. Through outright gifts and testamentary gifts – future gifts or gifts paid after your lifetime – you can make that statement to future generations. Naming opportunities are available beginning at gifts of $10,000.

On November 19, prospective Chazak Campaign supporters attended a special evening with Rabbi Wohlberg and Mrs. Schorr to share their vision for “BT in 120 Years.” If you would like to learn more about the Chazak Campaign, please contact Mandi Miller at 410-413-2399 or email mmiller@btfiloh.org.
