What's small, chic, and comfortable, which the Baltimore Jewish community cannot survive without?
The answer, shockingly, is not this reporter. It is the Mikvah of Baltimore, on Clarks Lane. The ritual bath, which has been serving our community for over 20 years, was visited this week by BT seniors. The seniors were given a tour of the facilities, as well as a crash course in the laws of Taharat HaMishpacha, family purity.
We were given a glimpse at how well this supporting column of the community is kept. The interior of the Mikvah resembles the interior of a spa, making a wonderful and comfortable experience for women who come to use it. Of course, it's nothing compared to the waterfall this reporter has used as a Mikvah, but what can you do? The students found the experience informative and spiritual, and greatly appreciated the opportunity to venture into this intimate place in the Baltimore community.
