Celebrating Israel & Community at the Tu B'Shevat Seder

At their joint Tu B'Shevat seder, 4's, Gan Aleph and Kindergarten students learned about the shiva minim — the seven species of fruit that grow in Israel. Each class performed a song they learned in honor of this special holiday, which celebrates the New Year for trees.

The group discussed how special the land of Israel is, as well as how Tu B'Shevat is celebrated there. "It was amazing — 99% of the kids tried something new!" exclaimed Morah Dina Dresin. "We tasted the fruit we learned about, and had grape juice in four different colors to remind us of the four seasons. The whole seder created a really good feeling of community."
