The Laws of Shabbat

In this class we will explore the halachic process by examining the laws of Shabbat. Utilizing the popular Tzurba M'Rabanan curriculum, we'll start each unit by reflecting on the relevant Biblical verses, move on to the Talmudic discussion, and continue to trace the conversation all the way through modern day commentators. Along the way we'll meet some of the most important figures in the history of halachic discourse. In the first trimester we will learn select topics of the laws of kashrut. English translation will be provided for all texts.
