May 4: Poland and Eretz Yisrael (Update II)

Shalom parents and friends of the wonderful class of 2017,

It is Thursday night, May 4, and by now many of you have already heard from your kids that they arrived safely in Eretz Yisrael.

Just a little bit of an overview of what led up to this point. Our kids said farewell to their guides, their bus driver and their guard, all of whom were wonderful and the kids really appreciated all the work that they had done to make the trip so meaningful for them. They went from Krakow to Warsaw and then on to Israel. They described this period in Poland as one of the most eye opening experiences they had ever had and all of them felt that it had brought them closer to their Jewish heritage.

After Auschwitz they got to Warsaw and had dinner in a restaurant across from the airport. They were looking forward to landing in Israel with total jubilation. When they got to Eretz Yisrael and many of the kids kissed the ground, especially those for whom it was the first time ever and they are all thrilled to be in Israel. By now they are on their way to their hotel after having davened at the Kotel.

We are on the second leg of an incredible trip and an absolutely transformational experience have a good night and I hope to give you an update before Shabbat.
