BT Takes Sixth Place at Yeshiva University's Model UN Competition

Twelve BT High School students represented either the country of Sudan or Venezuela at Yeshiva University’s annual Model United Nations conference on February 11th. At the conference, BT students represented either the country of Sudan or Venezuela, and diplomatically argued their country’s position on a multitude of topics, including everything from the harms of jet emissions to the North Korean nuclear threat.

Students represented their countries in committees such as the World Health Organization and the Security Council, and this year, BT did its best ever, coming in 6th place out of 47 total schools (placement was based off of the number of awards received relative to the number of student participants). Two Beth Tfiloh students, Aaron N. ‘19 and Jonathan A. ‘19 were named “Best Delegate” for each of their respective committees. Congratulations to all the student delegates, especially the two juniors who brought home awards for BT.
