Message to Returning Faculty: Help Every Child Reach for the Stars

Mrs. Schorr played a video clip of Paul Potts singing Puccini's aria, Nessun Dorma, to demonstrate how, as described by one of the judges on the British talent search, "a small lump of coal can be transformed into a diamond."

Other speakers during the course of the all-school morning meeting included Rabbi Mordechai Soskil, MS Principal, and Mrs. Deborah Allen, HS Director of Student Life, who recited T'hillim (Psalms) for those seeking G-d's protection and healing; Rabbi Aaron Frank, LS Principal, who gave a D'var Torah about the long-term psychic income of teachers, and Rabbi Mitchell Wohblerg, who reminded teachers to view every child as a wonder.

Following the all-school meeting, separate divisional meetings were held for Preschool, Lower, Middle and High School.

At a luncheon for all teachers, a special tribute was given to Rabbi David Finkelstein, who completed 18 years at Beth Tfiloh and will be devoting his full times efforts to Camp Shoresh in Frederick, Maryland.
