Rabbi Abrahams - 6th Grade Judaics

 By considering the root of each verb that we read, we are building skills that will eventually enable us to read and translate any part of Chumash. We are also working on our Rashi skills. This week we also took the opportunity to have an introductory discussion about how Midrash works, and how to interpret it. We had a big quiz on Wednesday (Oct 24th) and we averaged over 90%! We really are making great progress!

In Navi (Sefer Shoftim) we have been learning about the first 3 “Shoftim” leaders of the Jewish people. We have really enjoyed the stories, especially the one about Ehud and Eglon! We have just started learning about the 4th leader, Devorah. I guess it’s no secret that there will be another battle on the way! Our Shoftim PowerPoint’s are coming along nicely, too.

Finally, we make time on Fridays to discuss the Parasha, and then we play the popular "Who wants to be a millionaire" – style Parasha game.
