May 18: Back to Jerusalem

Shalom to Parents and Friends of the Wonderful Class of 2017,

It is 3:00 in the morning on May 19 and it is Thursday going into Friday. I just got off the phone with Cherie who tells me the kids are on their way back, right now, from their army experience. She said it was the least “kvetchy” group they had ever had. Most importantly the kids got an enormous amount out of it. There is a video of their closing ceremony that is being posted. You will be able to see how the kids reacted. It is really quite moving and very meaningful.

They are on their back to Jerusalem where they will go the shuk, have some time for shopping and have some lunch. They will then go back to the hotel to clean-up for shabbat, and they certainly will need to clean up and be ready for Shabbat.

Tonight they will be walking to the Kotel, and back to the hotel for shabbat dinner. Then in the morning they will have their choice of a few of the synagogues that are in the area. It is always a wonderful time for the kids to explore and experience some different approaches and most importantly where they will feel most comfortable.

We may not have a whole lot to tell you before shabbat but there will definitely be much to report motzei shabbat. In the meantime stay connected and stay well.

Shabbat shalom,
Zipora Schorr
